As The Running Nutritionist®, Lisa is an award winning leader to industry, academia, the public & press. A Recipient of the National Excellence in Practice Award & author of 8 books, including Legally Lean: Sports Nutrition Strategies for Optimal Health & Performance, and has appeared as an expert guest on 20/20, Dateline, Good Morning America Health, FOX News, CNN, MSNBC and ESPN & featured in numerous publications including: USA Today, Newsweek, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Men’s Fitness, Outside & Runners World magazines.

Lisa has built a global Integrative Sports Nutrition & Performance Practice, consulting to Gold Medal Olympian, World Class, Professional, Collegiate & Junior athletes; the & served as the US Sailing Olympic Team Nutritionist ’08 & Nutrition Expert for the Zumba Plate® program.

Lisa completed the Chef Certificate program from the Miami Culinary Institute (MCI) of Miami Dade College, where she serves as Chair of the Advisory Board & Enthusiast Series Cooking Instructor. Lisa completed The Culinary Medicine Program at Tulane University Medical School, Goldring Center in May ’18 & completed a Culinary Work Internship at the Culinary Vegetable Institute @ Chef’s Garden. She also serves as Chef Alliance Director for Slow Food Miami.

A competitive runner and former pro triathlete, Lisa has competed in more than 35 marathons (PR 2:52:32), IM Lake Placid, Escape from Alcatraz & hundreds of running & multisport races since ‘84. She competed at the ’04 World Long Distance Duathlon Championships in Fredericia, Denmark (21st OA). Lisa was the nutritionist for the inaugural USAT Coaching Commission developing the criteria for Certification Training & Examinations. She also served on the USAT Woman’s Commission & was a USAT Olympic Development Coach in OTC Chula Vista, Roswell, NM, & Gainesville, Fl.

Lisa is a wife & mom to 3 children and her dog Cookie and believes nutrition is 99% of Triathlon performance Success for optimal health, sport & life.
